Feeding Support
It is of high importance feeding support is offered with Tongue assesments/division. A tongue tie division is not a complete solution, the baby will need guidance to feed effectively due to learnt pathways.
Feeding Support
Breastfeeding support is available for parents who would like guidance, reassurance or help with feeding challenges.
As a qualified Breastfeeding Counsellor, I offer evidence-based, non-judgemental support tailored to you and your baby. Appointments focus on building confidence, improving comfort, and supporting informed choice.
Support may include:
- Positioning and attachment (latch)
- Pain or discomfort during feeds
- Understanding feeding behaviour
- Milk supply concerns-non complicated
- Combination feeding
- Confidence building and reassurance
Appointments are calm, respectful and led by your individual goals — there is no pressure to feed in any particular way.
If feeding doesn’t feel right, support is available During the Antenatal and postnatal Period
Formula feeding Support
Formula feeding is a valid and responsive way to feed your baby, and parents deserve clear, supportive guidance without judgement.
I offer evidence-based formula feeding support to help parents feel confident and informed. Appointments can support you with:
- Safe preparation and reconstitution of formula
- Using formula safely
- Bottle feeding positions and paced feeding
- Understanding hunger and fullness cues
- Understanding the Correct Teat to support a more comfortable feed
- Combination feeding support
- Reassurance and confidence building
Support is practical, respectful and tailored to your family’s needs, with a focus on safety, comfort and responsive feeding.
If you have questions or would like reassurance around bottle feeding, support is available During the Antenatal and postnatal Period.
Book a Session
Feeding support is booked by the hour, and I will provide as much guidance and support as possible within this time. Depending on your concerns, more than one appointment may be needed, and some more complex feeding issues may require referral to a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
IBCLCs can support more complex concerns such as persistent feeding difficulties, ongoing pain, poor weight gain, suspected or diagnosed feeding allergies, low milk supply, or feeding alongside medical conditions.
When Booking provide as much information as possible so that I can offer Guidance and recommend if my Feeding support is the correct one for you.
As Forward Feeding uses the same clinical booking system as Smith’s Medical Group, you may notice other services appear in the booking options. When booking with Forward Feeding, please select Tongue-Tie Assessment or Feeding Support.
Please include a brief description of your feeding concerns in the notes section when booking.
